After hurricane Irene spun her way up the east coast leaving us without power for 37 hours and several inches of rain today I woke to a glorious sun padded 83 degree temps. We faired well thank God.
All the rain has brought a splendor genera of organisms from butterflies to bees and crimson blushed mushrooms I’ve never seen before have sprouted in the yard . I wish to learn to be certain of the ediable and posioness.

Butterflies, bees and other flying insects were sweet in delight over the purple white bloom of peppermint herb when a goldenrod crab spider with a paralyzing sting took life. ; (

Aghast by the spider dressed in vibrant yellow I went back to the herb garden a second time noticing two grasshoppers enjoying a little afternoon delight, and could only smile.

When a life ends I guess another may begin.
After returning home from a week away it’s the simple little surprises you’re greeted with that have transpired on the home front that often bring an abundance of light and joy to life, welcoming you home. Like the four white eggs sprinkled with pink that lay in the yellow nesting house on the day you departed, hoping the brood of chickadees don’t fledge until your return.

In the garden the lupine blossoms have withered away until next spring replaced by the sunny Venus Sunflower that will stand tall and smile at you into September.

Purple Clematis and Diana Red Rose have weaved the way up the lattice outside the patio covered screen house.

Tiny little white blossoms are getting ready to sprout yellow string beans that are so tasty when slowly boiled with salt-pork, and there are four corn shaped orange blossoms on the zucchini. Green star lettuce and romain are thriving nicely with plenty to share with the wild rabbits when the cats aren’t around chasing innocent little moles. Weeds are plenty!

Wishing you love light & joy. Stay well my friend!
Blessed to be spending the weekend in the garden! Enjoy your Memorial Day ––3 day weekend and be safe.
Take a moment to remember those who’ve died and those in active military service.

Today I’m enjoying the pink cherry blossom cascade outside the studio window. A surpassing wave of gentle spring air flows through the screen showering inspiration of light, life and hope. Like the hovering hummingbird kissing nectar, the kiss of life. I think later I shall sit below the light of warm sun and capture the life of a hummingbird.
Hoping you too are set down under the warm sun with light and joy in your heart. Happy Monday!
