summer gold

Comments Off

Late spring early summer, I had been out in the yard gathering weeds and loose brush into a wheelbarrow. I being too lazy to walk up the road and dump it out into a wooded area it has since that day set overflowing under the burning summer sun, humidity, rain, and a lot of it. Shortly there after, it began to sprout an emerald green carpet of cultivated greenery, a thick stalk sprung out the center.  Today, a wealth of golden Sunflower blooms on that one stalk.

Apparently, the birds at our feeder have a noticeably greener thumb then I do!

Now moved to its new area in the yard until the fall. Nature sure can gift with a surprise at times leaving us with a smile!

Happy summer and be well!

late afternoon shadow

Out into the sleeve of the falling sun into the soft tendons of the wind
I become one with earth with air suspended in time
as thoughts float through the crunchy curls of leaves broiled rusty and brown
piled under the pillars of long shadows painted in the golden glow of late afternoon sun.

Open warm heart my mind clear the day moves on
into night my feet much lighter
this breath under the gentle sky is what heals.

Settling in to self-care

The early afternoon gray skies soft rain is tapping down on the aluminum roof. Sheer curtains whirl in the cool breeze give way to bathe in quiet solitude, cuddled up with a soft downy comforter.

This afternoon will be lavished in self-care and a good read, “The Prosperous Heart,” by Julia Cameron.

Enjoy your weekend and stay well my friend
