Reaching Out in Words

Spring has Sprung

It’s been a fabulous week temps in the mid- 60’s the sun has been shining for a couple of days now, and spring ahead, has blessed us with a few hours more of daylight. Though the ground is still very wet, and the pump in our basement continues to flow. It’s a bit early to get out and play in the garden. Stems of flowers are starting to peep their fresh heads from dark soil reaching for the warm sunshine to flourish.  I’ve come out of winter hibernation as well, reaching for the sun filled days filling my gardening journal with a few pages and inspirational quotes.

Spring has sprung so get out and enjoy! Have a great weekend and stay well my friend!

Unravelling the Petals of Life

Five years have passed and your presence is still felt when I come to visit over the winter months. The smell of popcorn, and the old Swisher Sweet cigars you smoked filter through the air at times, as if you were still here. Your sneakers sit in the closet below a hanging blue jean shirt worn while doing yard work, and the bed stand drawer still carries your socks and manicure pouch. These are the little things kept close by as memory keepers. This old trailer is still your home. To me it’s an oasis of love and peaceful healing.

Monday Morning

Currently, my bottom is sitting in Brooksville, Florida. After a one month stay tomorrow morning I’ll be on a plane heading back to New Hampshire. It’s nice to get away but deep in my heart there is really no place like home.

As I sit here at the kitchen table it’s a peaceful sunny morning, other than, a couple of squirrels playing tag up above on the aluminum roof. Earlier, I put the morning coffee on and was surprised when pulling the blinds up to let light in, right outside the window was a armadillo, which seems out of character for what I believe to be an nocturnal mammal. I had never seen one so closely before. Its banded hard shell was pretty captivating. Luckily my camera was in reach to capture a few shots.  What a great start to my day!

I found that wing broken today!
