My husband the Architect came home with a church pew he had purchased at an auction to raise money for a new church. It’s in excellent condition even equipped with burgundy color kneeler. The pew sits in front of a bay window in our living room where I’ll sit flipping through gardening books that line the windowsill. Hard and uncomfortable, I’ve wanted to upholster it with padding. One of those projects that is on your– to do list, one of many that never seems to get done.
A trip to the local Good Will store on a rainy Monday got the job done. I purchased these 6 pillows @ $3 a piece total score $18.00! They’re clean and spotless and I just love the natural color tones that fit right in with my earthy decorating style.
Next on the home to–do–list, a $7 Japanese decorative folding screen purchased at a flea market a couple years ago.
Stay well my friend and much creativity fun to you this week!

Do you have little collections or momentums that you collect over the days, months, years setting them in clear view of your daily life? Do they calm, relax, influence, or possibly inspire you through out the day?
Why? What does it all mean?
I have a pile of rocks on my desk with a piece of thick broken glass and a cheap diamond. The large rock is in the perfect shape of a foot with arch and all reminding me of, “Foot Prints in the Sand”. The small smooth black rock sitting to the right below the cheap diamond is also shaped as a foot. Not in the picture is a small pinecone, because Sophia my daughter’s cat gets a hold of it to knock around the house. I also have my dogs tooth he lost piled in the heap. Crazy I know, but the question is why?
Lately I’ve asked myself why I have these rocks on my desk? They fall over daily in the chaos and I pile them up again, over and over. Family and friends ask me, ”What’s with the rocks?”
So I’ve done a bit of research, interestingly I was born in April so I’m a Taurus zodiac sign the almighty stubborn bull and earth sign. There could be many reasons why, but being an artist, along with a love of garden and well earthy nature, maybe I just have some type of mental vulnerability thing going on having them in my home as well as out side in my summer garden brings me closer to nature where it is peacefully relaxing.
On another notation, I’ve had some pretty big boulders thrown my way throughout my life that weighed me down. I’ve always believed if you fall down in life once you stand up again three times. Maybe this is just some kind of a security measure, if I should ever be hit with a larger boulder that sometime life will throw our way, one that I may have to carry for a time, I will eventually throw on this rock pile and climb it once again.
So what’s on your desks? What special momentums do you carry around daily?
Stay well my friend and have a great weekend!
Last nights rain, sleet, and heavy wet snow laid on the power lines, knocked the power out earlier this morning at about 5am for a good 4hrs. Mid morning settled down to a light snowfall. The inspiriting beauty called out to be captured, and I headed out the door with a mug of coffee and camera in hand.
Though, while heading out in to the frosty air I did have to convince myself the cold bitter air would be energizing as the snow crunched below my boots.

The only color around was this vacant summer cottage looking pretty cozy covered in snow. A lovely laced valance hung in the window, a charming little place! I wondered if it had a fireplace?

A few of natures surprises, snow covered berries and golden spikes of grass.

I had even met a few friends a long the way, chickadee and bluejay.

Thanks for walking along, stay well my friend.
